Do you even feel like giving up? Do you ever feel like you're the only one? The only one who cares... The only one who's trying... The only one who believes... Then you'll want to join us for our worship service this weekend. As we see believers in God struggle with doubts and discouragement, we hear God's promise: "I am convinced that neither life nor death, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future nor any powers, neither height nor depth nor anything in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39). We're quick to notice what's wrong with those in authority over us, people like parents, teachers, and government. The Fourth Commandment helps us remember that the Lord is the one who is really in charge, and that he has blessings in store for us through those who rule over us. Today's devotion was originally recorded at our July 1st Prayer at the Close of Day service, entitled: A Prayer for our Nation.

Jesus is the bread of life from heaven who gives life to the world. Whoever believes in him will never be hungry. Taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the one who takes refuge in him!
