Call Decision Letter

Our extended learning director Mrs. Gretchen Plitzuweit has come to a decision on her call to serve at St. Mark in Green Bay. She writes:

March 28, 2026

My Dear St. Paul Church and School Family,

This time of deliberation has given me a beautiful opportunity to reflect.  For nearly twenty years, you haven’t just been my colleagues and congregation—you have been my family.  I have walked through some of the most significant seasons of my life within these walls.Through every victory and every challenge, your love has been a constant.

Professionally, it has been one of the greatest honors of my life to watch how God has multiplied this ministry. Seeing us grow from a small community of 82 students to a diverse family of over 170 children—supported by a staff that has more than doubled in size—has been a testament to His grace.

With these memories etched forever in my heart, I am writing to share that the Lord has guided me to accept the divine call to serve the students and families of St. Mark Lutheran School.

While this decision weighs heavily on my heart, I move forward with a deep sense of peace, knowing this is God’s intentional plan for the next chapter of ministry—for myself, for St. Mark, and for the beloved community here at St. Paul.

I want to thank everyone who reached out to share their thoughts, prayers, and support during this process. I welcome further conversations to dispel any wonderings as to my decision.  Please know that leaving you is one of the hardest things I will ever have to do. I write this with bittersweet tears, but also with immense gratitude for the time we spent together.  

I pray that God continues to pour out His blessings on this ministry and that He sends dedicated workers to continue the incredible journey you are on. I trust that, in His perfect timing, our paths will cross again.
