Call Received: Pastor Ben Enstad

Pastor Ben Enstad has received a call to serve at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, Wisconsin (near Eau Claire). By means of this call, the Lord is inviting Pastor Enstad to consider his gifts and the opportunities before him, and to decide whether he will begin a new chapter in ministry at Redeemer or continue his service in his present call at St. Paul in Green Bay. For our part, we can trust that the Lord will bless Pastor Enstad's decision in whatever way is best for him, his family, and both congregations (Ephesians 4:11-13).

Friends in Christ,
On Monday night I received a phone call from the chairman of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. He was calling to inform me that they had called me to me their pastor.
This congregation is one I already know quite well. Or, at least, knew quite well. About 20 years ago I was their vicar. I am being called because their current pastor, who also happened to be my supervising pastor my vicar year, is retiring the beginning of August.
It is extremely humbling when our Lord announces to a jar of clay that he not only can keep using you in your current place of service, but also says that he can use you in another place to carry out his ministry.
Over the days and weeks to come, I will be prayerfully deliberating between the call I currently serve here at St. Paul, and the call to serve at Redeemer.
As you all will certainly be in our prayers, we ask that you remember us as well, asking the Lord to grant us all peace, patience and wisdom.

I humbly ask your understanding and patience from July 9-16 if you don’t hear back from me right away as I will be on a camping trip with my family, culminating in the celebration of Asher’s birthday on the 16th.
