The lower level of our new building will be dedicated to community outreach, specifically to English classes (ESL) and food pantry storage. The video below lets you peek inside this newly enclosed space. Eventually there will be two rooms and also restrooms; interior block walls are yet to be constructed.
Note: to save on construction costs, the finish work for the lower level is not included in the project. We'll be looking for volunteer help from skilled workers among our own members.

In our previous post, we were still on track for finishing our project December 1st, as planned. Now, with the plan of doubling up on some of the scheduled work, we're told that the goal is to finish the project by December 14th. The reason for delays has to do in part with unforeseen red tape involved in connecting to power, and scheduling delays with masonry workers. Here are updates to the previous timeline.
June 19th - first floor masonry work
July 17th - first floor enclosed
July 19th - second floor masonry work
August 14th - bar joist (roof support) is in place
December 14th - completion date, God willing
