Nathan Reich

Principal & 7th/8th Grade Teacher

Mr. Reich is a graduate of Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. He holds a teaching licenses in elementary education and secondary social studies education.  Before coming to St. Paul in 2014, Mr. Reich taught English at Hangzhou Dianzi University in Hanghzou, China. He has been the principal at St. Paul since 2016. Currently, Mr. Reich teaches 7th and 8th grade math and 5th - 8th grade social studies. He also serves on the Fox Valley Lutheran Schools Executive Committee and is finishing his masters degree in educational administration. 

Kristin Nelson

3K/4K Teacher

Mrs. Nelson joined the St. Paul staff in 2017. She is a graduate of Martin Luther College. She has taught 2nd and 3rd grades in Muskego WI and was a volunteer, piano teacher, and classroom aide at Risen Savior in Mankato, MN while her children attended school there. She also taught preschool in Mankato for two years. Mrs. Nelson is one of St. Paul's organists and volunteers with our ESL program.

Julie Zabell

3K/4K Teacher & Early Childhood Director

Mrs. Zabell is the Early Childhood Director and teaches 3K and 4K at St. Paul.  She graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College in 1993 with a degree in Elementary Education.  In recent years she has taken several post graduate classes with an early childhood education focus.  Mrs. Zabell has been teaching our youngest learners at St. Paul since 2008.  She has previous experience teaching grades 7-8 and grade 4 in Thiensville, WI.  She also serves on the FVL Schools Early Childhood Education Committee, coaches forensics,and is a member of our school's Promotions Committee.  She is married to Pastor Jon Zabell and together they have 3 sons and 1 daughter.

Jan Herre

3K/4K Classroom Aide

Mrs. Herre has been a part-time classroom Aide for St. Paul's Early Childhood program since 2014. Her position expanded to full school days in 2019 as an afternoon session was added to accommodate our growing enrollment. Mrs. Herre is a 1985 graduate of Shoreland Lutheran High School in Somers, WI. 

Jean Jammer

Kindergarten Teacher

Mrs. Jammer graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. She served as the Kindergarten teacher for three years in Nicollet, MN. After taking a few years off when her children were young, she resumed her teaching at St. Paul in Green Bay in 1993. She taught preschool for two years and became the Kindergarten teacher in 1995. At St. Paul, Mrs. Jammer is the record keeper for the school’s honor roll, sports, and all other extra curricular awards. She possesses a current WI State Teaching License for Grades K-8.

Rachel Blum

1st Grade Teacher

Mrs. Blum is a graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee, WI. This is her second year serving at St. Paul. She previously taught in West Allis Public Schools as a first, second and third grade teacher for seven years. Mrs. Blum received her synod certification in 2019. She serves as one of the school’s girls’ basketball coaches and is the 1st grade teacher and the 5th - 8th grade Spanish teacher.

Jean Bakeberg

2nd Grade Teacher & School Music Coordinator

Mrs. Bakeberg is a graduate of Dr. Martin Luther College. She previously taught at First Lutheran School in Green Bay for thirteen years before coming to St. Paul in 1999. In addition to teaching second grade, she also teaches upper grade classroom music and choir chimes. She serves as the school’s Junior Choir director, and also is one of the church’s organists.

Gretchen Plitzuweit

3rd/4th Grade Teacher

Mrs. Plitzuweit is a coastal native from Washington State.  She graduated from Martin Luther College in 2002.  She previously taught art classes for grades 1-8 in San Jose, California, before joining the St. Paul team in 2008.  She teaches 3-4 grade full time as well as mentoring new teachers in their first two years after graduation from MLC.  She is also currently working on her Masters Degree in Special Education.

Clair Jammer

5th/6th Grade Teacher & Athletic Director

Mr. Jammer is currently teaching Grades 5 & 6 and also serves as the school’s athletic director. He graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College (New Ulm, MN). Before accepting a Call to serve at St. Paul in 1989, he served Trinity Lutheran in Nicollet, MN. 

Danielle Powers

7th/8th Grade Teacher, Extended Learning

Mrs. Powers teaches 7th and 8th grade in the afternoon. In the morning she provides individual education to our students with IEP's or service plans. She also works with any students who are struggling in school. She has been teaching for over 20 years. She has a degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Special Education.

Lisa Ziegert

Administrative Assistant

Lisa Ziegert is a graduate of the University of Green Bay with a degree in Early Childhood Education.  She worked 4 years at Green Bay Day Nursery (now Encompass) before moving to Milwaukee and working at a daycare center there associated with Children's and Frederts' Hospitals.  Upon returning to Green Bay a year later, she worked at Packerland Packing in the main office handling the employees insurance and workers comp reports.  She met and married her husband Jeff while they both worked there and they have 2 children, Mason and Jordan.  After leaving Packerland, she took a teaching position at The Cerebral Palsy Center in their Day Care, spending almost 18 years with them.  She was hired at St. Paul as the Office Assistant in August of 2014, and added the position of Business Manager in 2019, becoming the Office Administrator.
